Welcome - or as we say in Welsh 'Croeso' - to the web-site for the Blue Anchor public house Aberthaw in South Wales
external view The Blue Anchor Aberthaw is located in the village of East Aberthaw, on the South Wales coast,
just a mile to the West of the village of Rhoose, on the B4265 - some 10 miles west of the capital city of Wales - Cardiff - in the U.K.
The inn has a history that spans some 700 years, it first opened it's doors for trade in 1380
- over a 110 years before Christopher Columbus first crossed the Atlantic Ocean and discovered America!
It has traded almost continuously since then and is now world famous as a pub, renowned for it's range of real ales, and for it's high quality food.
external view The Blue Anchor is a former CAMRA 'Pub of the Year' and serves a range of real ales - regularly stocked ales include Wadworths 6X, Wye Valley Hereford Pale Ale, Brains Bitter and Theakston's Old Peculiar plus guest ales from around the U.K.

We also offer a range of lagers, cider and stout or if you prefer choose from our comprehensive wine list.

The Blue Anchor offers a choice of options when it comes to dining.
For that special occasion why not eat in the purpose built restaurant which is able to cater for up to 80 persons.
The restaurant has won a number of awards and is Egon Ronay recommended. We offer a choice of table d'hote or a la Carte menus

Or if you'd prefer, you can choose to eat in the intimate surroundings of the pub itself, by selecting from our comprehensive choice of bar meals.

Up to date copies of both the restaurant and bar menus can be found on this site
