just a mile to the West of the village of Rhoose, on the B4265 - some 10 miles west of the capital city of Wales - Cardiff - in the U.K.

 

 

The inn has a history that spans some 700 years, it first opened it's doors for trade in 1380
- over a 110 years before Christopher Columbus first crossed the Atlantic Ocean and discovered America!
It has traded almost continuously since then and is now world famous as a pub, renowned for it's range of real ales, and for it's high quality food.

The Blue Anchor was the 2007 Daily Telegraph Cask Ale pub of the Year.

It is also a former CAMRA 'Pub of the Year'.

The Blue Anchor offers a range of regularly stocked ales including Wadworths 6X, Wye Valley Hereford Pale Ale, Brains Bitter and Theakston's Old Peculiar in addition we offer guest ales selected from the choice of the finest U.K. ale producers.

In addition we also offer a range of lagers, cider and stout or if you prefer choose from our comprehensive wine list.

The Blue Anchor offers a choice of options when it comes to dining.

The restaurant has won a number of awards.

In 2007 the Blue Anchor was awarded the Western Mail & Echo Food Pub of the Year award it has an entry in the prestigious Michelin Guide and is Egon Ronay recommended .
